"Alcatraz Island, sometimes informally referred to as simply Alcatraz or by its pop-culture name, The Rock, is a small island located in the middle of San Francisco Bay in California, United States. It served as a lighthouse, then a military fortification, then a military prison followed by a federal prison until 1963. It became a national recreation area in 1972 and received landmarking designations in 1976 and 1986" - Wikipedia

During the "Bay Cruise Adventure" at pear 39, San Francisco, I had a close look at the world famous "Alcatraz". Although, it was said that Alcatraz was "escape proof", specially due to the coldness of sea water, it is said that few prisoners were managed to escape. The most unfortunate situation I feel about Alcatraz is, prisoners listening to celebrations, events, music etc., carried out in Bay Area as Alcatraz is so close to San Francisco Bay Area but, without having the capability of participating to them.

Above two pictures were taken during the Bay Cruise Adventure. My next plan in to have tour inside Alcatraz which would be a lifetime experience. Be curious ... I will be back soon with pictures inside Alcatraz...
